Job Description

The Operations Department is seeking a qualified and experienced Reconciliation Manager to oversee reconciliation operations, ensure timely clearance of outstanding transactions, support accurate financial reporting, and manage reconciliation-related stakeholder queries.

The role requires strong attention to detail, leadership capability, and experience in managing reconciliation activities across Nostro accounts, mobile network operator accounts, card accounts, and suspense accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Nostro accounts, MNOs, card accounts, and suspense accounts are reconciled on a daily basis.
  • Provide proper narration and detailed explanations for all outstanding transactions.
  • Advise exceptions to the respective units as required.
  • Follow up on the timely clearance of all outstanding transactions.
  • Check all manual reversals and adjustments made to different accounts under the reconciliation hub.
  • Ensure the accuracy and correctness of all reversals and adjustments performed.
  • Handle queries related to reconciliation operations from all stakeholders.
  • Apply for write-off or absorption of long outstanding items that cannot be resolved.
  • Ensure timely submission of returns to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure a staff leave plan is in place to support business continuity.
  • Manage employees within the team.
  • Coach and train staff by ensuring daily checks on staff activities are conducted.
  • Support cross-training within the team.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Ensure all outstanding items are shared with the respective units for action and rectified within the agreed time.
  • Ensure customer inquiries related to reconciliation are handled effectively and on time.
  • Ensure all suspense accounts, card accounts, and Nostro accounts under the reconciliation hub are reconciled daily.
  • Check all manual reversals and adjustments to different accounts under the reconciliation hub.
  • Ensure the accuracy and correctness of reversals performed.
  • Handle reconciliation operations queries from all stakeholders.

Minimum Position Qualification Requirements

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Required qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.

Added advantage

  • Master’s degree in a business-related field.

Professional qualifications

  • Professional qualifications are considered essential.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
