Position details

Position: Sales Representative
Sector: Power tools and machinery
Location: Dar es Salaam
Duration: 1 year, renewable

Products you will sell

The Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling a wide range of tools and machinery, including:

  • Power tools, including drills, grinders, saws, and related equipment
  • Generators, including portable and industrial units
  • Water pumps, including submersible and surface pumps
  • Compressors, including air compressors and accessories
  • Welding machines, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders
  • Workshop equipment, including hoists, stands, and benches

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Promote and sell tools and machinery to walk-in and corporate customers.
  • Demonstrate product features and provide technical guidance to customers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Prepare quotations and follow up on sales leads promptly.
  • Maintain product display and showroom presentation standards.

Candidate profile

Applicants should have the following skills and personal qualities:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Basic technical understanding of power tools and machinery.
  • Self-driven, confident, and customer-focused personality.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in both Swahili and English.
  • Experience in tools or industrial equipment sales will be an added advantage.

Minimum qualifications

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any related technical or business field.
  • At least two years of experience in selling tools, hardware, or industrial equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present products clearly and close sales effectively.
  • Basic technical understanding of power tools and machinery, including key features, common applications, and basic safety practices.
  • Self-driven, confident, and customer-focused attitude, with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office, email, and CRM systems.
