Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Drive vehicles to approved destinations in accordance with traffic regulations.
- Undertake minor mechanical repairs.
- Take vehicles due for routine maintenance or repair to the appointed service agent.
- Maintain motor vehicle log books.
- Conduct pre-inspection of the assigned vehicle before travelling and report any mechanical damages or defects.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
- Ensure that valid documents and permits are acquired before the commencement of any journey.
- Promptly report accidents or incidents involving the vehicles to the relevant authority.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate.
- Possession of a Class “C” or “E” Driving License.
- Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any recognized institution.
- Must possess training certificates that qualify them for the respective ranks.
- Must have at least one year of driving experience without causing any accident.
Added Advantage
Possession of Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics will be an added advantage.
Remuneration
The successful candidates will be paid according to the PGSS 2.1 salary scale.
