Duties and responsibilities
The Research Officer II (Beekeeping) will be responsible for supporting and implementing beekeeping-related research, training, and field operations. The duties include:
- Managing beekeeping operations, including:
- Hive maintenance
- Queen rearing
- Honey extraction and quality control
- Pest and disease control
- Conducting training sessions and capacity-building programs for farmers and community groups.
- Monitoring and evaluating bee health, behaviour, and colony performance.
- Supporting research on:
- Pollination
- Honey production
- Effects of environmental changes on bees
- Collecting, processing, and analyzing data related to beekeeping and forest ecosystems.
- Collaborating with research scientists and stakeholders to disseminate and apply relevant research findings.
- Developing research proposals aimed at securing internal and external funding.
- Publishing research outcomes in peer-reviewed scientific journals and other publication media.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold both a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Beekeeping from recognized institutions.
The applicant must also have a minimum of an Upper Second Class or an overall minimum of Grade B+ for unclassified
undergraduate degrees.

Duties and responsibilities
The Research Officer will be responsible for supporting wildlife management research activities, data analysis, proposal development, publication, and dissemination of research findings.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- To collect, process, and analyze data related to wildlife management.
- To initiate and participate in wildlife research in collaboration with other researchers.
- To collaborate and interact with research scientists in the dissemination and application of research findings, as appropriate.
- To gather relevant literature and write research reports.
- To develop research proposals for fundraising.
- To publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and publishers.
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must be holders of both a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields from recognized institutions:
- Wildlife Management
- Wildlife Science
- Zoology
Applicants must have a minimum of an Upper Second Class or an overall minimum of Grade B+ for unclassified undergraduate degrees.

- Publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals or with peer-reviewed publishers.
- Performing any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Holder of a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from recognized institutions.

- Assist Senior Research Officers in collecting, processing, and analyzing data related to veterinary issues and wildlife management.
- Assist in preparing protocols for wildlife immobilization and handling for disease investigation, rescue from snares, collaring, and translocations.
- Supervise veterinary and laboratory students during their field practical training.
- Provide wildlife veterinary services to researchers in different ecosystems in protected and open areas of Tanzania.

Qualifications and experience
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized institution.

Remuneration
The successful candidate will be paid according to the PRSS 1 salary scale.
