Job description
Stanbic Bank Tanzania is seeking an Officer, Collateral Preparation to attend to all aspects related to collateral documentation and routine collateral-related activities for the bank’s branches.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a diary system to follow up on conditions of sanction and outstanding collateral items. The role also involves assisting in the preparation of collateral documents based on approved sanctions and supporting documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Attend to collateral documentation matters for branches.
- Handle routine collateral-related processes and follow-ups.
- Maintain a diary system for tracking conditions of sanction.
- Follow up on outstanding collateral items.
- Assist in preparing collateral documents against approved sanctions.
- Ensure collateral preparation is supported by the required documentation.
- Support processes that help restrict legal risk throughout the life of the facility.
Qualifications
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Law
- Finance
- Business
- Economics
Experience required
Credit risk – BCB
Business area: Risk & Corporate Affairs
Experience: 1–2 years
Candidates should have experience with home loans and lending. Banking experience will be beneficial, especially experience related to banking processes, collateral documentation, and the operation of collateral documentation processes.
Personal and business banking experience
Experience: 1–2 years
Experience in personal and business banking will provide useful exposure to credit risks, lending, and associated collateral. Banking experience is preferred, particularly in relation to collateral documentation processes and their operation.
Banking products and facilities knowledge
Experience: 3–4 years
The candidate should have an understanding of the bank’s products and facilities. They should also understand facility terms and the conditions that must be complied with throughout the life of the facility to ensure legal risk is effectively restricted.
