About the Role

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced CCR Operator to support production operations at its Mtwara Plant in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling various sections of the cement production line from the Central Control Room, ensuring stable plant operations, safety compliance, product quality, and achievement of production targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The CCR Operator will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Monitor various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR).
  • Ensure precision and adherence to required standards in the cement production process.
  • Provide relevant information and direction to patrollers and operators in the production line based on monitored operations, in liaison with shift coordination.
  • Monitor and control all sections of the plant process lines to ensure:
    • Stable equipment operation
    • Employee safety
    • Compliance with prescribed standards
    • Compliance with environmental regulations
  • Log process data at specified intervals, document activities, and report operational activities accordingly.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the crusher, raw mills, kiln, and cement mills by providing constant feedback and relevant guidance to:
    • Shift coordinators
    • Engineers
    • Patrollers
    • Operators
  • Inform patrollers, attendants, and operators of failures, potential failures, or trouble spots, and provide direction for problem solving.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot potential operating problems, either independently or in consultation with shift coordinators, engineers, and the section head when immediate action is required to resume production.
  • Continuously review the plant automation system and make recommendations for improvement based on leading practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports on work undertaken in a clear and concise manner.
  • Supervise casual staff to ensure all conveyor belts in the unit are clean and free from jamming.
  • Ensure cement and clinker production targets are achieved during the respective shift.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the section head or HOD.

Key Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Holder of a BSc in Chemical and Processing Engineering or any related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in a relevant position.

    Job Summary

    Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Production Manager to provide accurate production information to top management and maintain production records that support effective planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.

    The role supports the operation and maintenance teams by ensuring production data is properly recorded, analyzed, and used to determine plant performance. The position also contributes to production planning, strategy execution, and overall plant performance improvement.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Participate in the development and articulation of the production strategy with the production team in line with the organization’s objectives.
    • Execute and manage the plant’s production plan, capacity plan, and materials requirements plan in line with DCP-Tanzania’s strategic intent.
    • Implement the approved production plan at the plant to ensure established targets are achieved.
    • Ensure production processes are implemented in line with safety and environmental procedures and guidelines.
    • Demonstrate ownership of the unit’s strategic direction and communicate objectives clearly to all production staff.
    • Prepare annual production budgets based on relevant considerations, including market forces, and ensure achievement of planned budgets through effective resource optimization.
    • Coordinate and manage the production team to achieve daily production targets and support maintenance requirements.
    • Oversee the execution of cement kiln lining repairs, raw and cement mill operations, and the cement packaging system.
    • Keep up to date with new developments in cement production, industry trends, and good practices, and make recommendations for improvement to the Head of Department.
    • Supervise the implementation of approved recommendations.
    • Coordinate with other units within the production, mines, and maintenance departments as required to meet production requirements.
    • Provide overall guidance and strategic direction to the production team.
    • Prepare and provide production reports and information to management to support decision-making.
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Chief General Manager, Operations and Maintenance.

    Requirements

    Applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or its equivalent in a technical discipline.
    • Postgraduate qualification or relevant professional qualification.
    • Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience.

    • In-depth knowledge of cement production processes.
    • Strong knowledge of the cement industry, both local and international.
