Responsibilities

Creative Development

The Brand & Communications Manager will lead creative development in liaison with creative agencies and partners to deliver high-impact creative work that supports HBB growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the creative development process from briefing to execution for all HBB campaigns.
  • Work closely with creative agencies to deliver compelling ATL, BTL, and digital assets.
  • Ensure all creative materials meet brand guidelines, target audience insights, and performance standards.
  • Manage creative timelines, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise with advertising and creative agencies or partners.

Vendor and Agency Management

The role will involve monitoring and reviewing vendor and agency performance to ensure quality, efficiency, and value addition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and review vendors and agencies constantly to seek better value addition through quality and cost.
  • Prepare weekly reports on advertising agency buying status, including payments done, pending invoices, and LPO status.
  • Document and monitor payment status for agencies, print, electronic, and outdoor media suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain a library of all creative and communication materials developed by the agency, including competitor advertisements.
  • Track the execution of advertising creative produced to ensure efficient workflow of the marketing work plan.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed in a timely manner as required.

Digital Strategy Development

The Brand & Communications Manager will drive digital-first demand generation for HBB by developing and executing targeted digital marketing strategies

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute HBB-specific digital marketing strategies.
  • Own paid digital media performance across search, social, display, and video.
  • Collaborate with product and customer experience teams to optimize digital journeys and conversion funnels.
  • Monitor digital KPIs, including leads, cost per acquisition, conversions, and return on investment.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends, platforms, and broadband-relevant consumer behavior.

Content Creation and Management

The role includes working with creative agencies and cross-functional teams to create engaging and relevant digital marketing content.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create engaging and relevant content in collaboration with creative agencies and internal teams.
  • Develop digital posts, videos, graphics, and social media content.
  • Ensure content resonates with the target audience.
  • Ensure all content clearly communicates the brand’s message.

Social Media Marketing, Website Management, and LinkedIn Management

The Brand & Communications Manager will manage and grow Airtel’s social media presence, website updates, and LinkedIn communication for strategic launches and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop social media strategies.
  • Create content calendars.
  • Develop paid advertising strategies to reach specific demographics.
  • Grow followers, likes, and engagement scores across social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Develop processes for lead generation and lead management through all social channels, including websites.
  • Update the website with newly launched products.
  • Identify areas for improvement in user experience, landing pages, and conversion funnels.
  • Increase the likelihood of conversions through improved digital journeys.
  • Update LinkedIn with communication on strategic launches and projects.

Data Analysis and Monitoring Digital Media Spends

The role requires strong data analysis, budget monitoring, and campaign performance evaluation to support positive returns and brand growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Stay up to date with emerging digital marketing trends and technologies.
  • Manage budgets and monitor advertising performance.
  • Ensure a positive return on investment.
  • Support growth in brand scores, including TOMA, Power, and social listening.
  • Analyze data from website analytics, social media insights, social listening, and email campaign metrics.
  • Ensure positive return on investment and competitive campaign results.
  • Monitor online mentions and engage with customers to manage HBB perception.
  • Conduct online market research.
  • Analyze trends to identify new opportunities and improve HBB campaign performance.

Media Strategy and Traditional Media Execution

The Brand & Communications Manager will maximize reach, frequency, and effectiveness of HBB media investments across traditional media channels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop HBB ATL media strategies across TV, radio, outdoor, and print.
  • Work with media agencies to optimize media mix and placement.
  • Monitor media performance, share of voice, and competitor activity.
  • Identify innovative and non-traditional media opportunities relevant to home broadband users.
  • Ensure timely execution, monitoring, and reconciliation of media placements.
  • Conduct regular trade visits and ad hoc research to establish the impact of deployed TV, radio, and print media.

Media Monitoring

The role includes consistent monitoring of media placements and competitor activity across different platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly media monitoring of media placements across TV, radio, and print media.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on industry share of voice.
  • Report on share of expenditure by media.
  • Report on value per spot or placement compared to competition.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly competitor review reports across different media platforms.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Stakeholder Management

The Brand & Communications Manager will act as the single brand custodian for HBB and support alignment across internal teams and agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with product, sales, and customer experience teams to align communication with on-ground realities.
  • Support go-to-market plans for new HBB products, bundles, and offers.
  • Provide clear brand and communication direction to internal teams and agencies.
  • Manage agency relationships to drive excellence, accountability, and value.

Managing Customer Interaction on Social Media

The role will require close collaboration with the Customer Experience team to manage customer interactions and improve brand perception on social media.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Customer Experience team to manage customer interaction on social media.
  • Develop social listening trackers based on customer conversations about Airtel and competitors.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience.
  • Develop strategies to grow positive feedback.
  • Manage negative reactions on social media.

Performance Tracking, Insights, and Optimization

The Brand & Communications Manager will ensure measurable marketing impact through KPI tracking, campaign analysis, and continuous optimization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and track HBB brand and performance KPIs, including awareness, consideration, demand, and conversion.
  • Analyze campaign results and recommend optimization actions.
  • Track competitor activity and evolving home broadband market trends.
  • Use insights to continuously refine messaging, channels, and investment decisions.

Budget and Governance

The role will ensure efficient, compliant, and effective use of marketing budgets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage approved HBB marketing budgets.
  • Monitor spending against plans and ROI benchmarks.
  • Recommend cost-efficient and innovative approaches to maximize impact.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, approvals, and governance.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications and Functional/Technical Skills

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Relevant Experience

Applicants should have the following experience:

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in brand marketing, integrated communications, or growth marketing.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale ATL and digital campaigns.
  • Prior experience in telecom, FMCG, technology, or high-growth consumer categories is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of media planning, digital performance marketing, and creative execution.
  • Experience managing agencies and multiple stakeholders at senior level.
