Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is offering exciting opportunities for Route to Market Specialists to join its Sales and Marketing team. The successful candidates will report to the Country Lead Route to Market.

Key purpose
The primary purpose of the Route to Market Specialist position is to support the implementation and optimisation of route-to-market strategies to ensure efficient product distribution and market penetration.
Key duties and responsibilities
Key outputs and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Regularly review operational key performance indicator performance, including Ordered versus Delivered metrics, and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Monitor the sustainability of distribution partners through monthly and quarterly Profit and Loss reviews, DOSA audits and the implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensure that all customer master data related to sales is accurately maintained to support reliable business reporting and informed decision-making.
- Optimise resource allocation and customer visit sequencing to promote cost-effective operations and efficient route management.
- Develop and present well-evaluated Route to Market proposals that improve sales performance, customer engagement and promotional effectiveness.
- Ensure Route to Market simulations result in feasible and successful implementation plans aligned with business objectives and market requirements.
- Apply the business Route to Market model to allocate resources efficiently and schedule customer visits, achieving targeted cost objectives annually or as business requirements evolve.
- Ensure all customer interactions align with the Route to Market model to maximise operational efficiency, customer coverage and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate existing Route to Market structures to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend optimised solutions for commercial initiatives.
- Assess product, promotional, market, customer and employee-related factors to strengthen Route to Market effectiveness and improve overall commercial performance.
- Conduct Route to Market simulations using established parameters to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed models before implementation.
- Analyse Route to Market simulation outcomes to confirm their alignment with business objectives and operational practicality.
- Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Central Sales, Regional Sales teams and other key stakeholders to align Route to Market strategies and ensure consistent execution across the business.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies affecting Route to Market strategies.
- Regularly review Route to Market processes, gather stakeholder feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuously adapt Route to Market strategies and processes in response to evolving business needs, ensuring sustained operational efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
Qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Marketing, Business or a related field.
Experience
- Three to four years of sales experience within a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
- Experience applying Route to Market principles to optimise sales operations would be advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using routing and logistics software.
Required skills and competencies
- Proficiency in maintaining large datasets and ensuring their accuracy and consistency for reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Route to Market models, with the ability to apply and interpret the models in a commercial environment.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend optimal Route to Market solutions based on market, product and customer needs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and modelling, including proficiency with routing and logistics software.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
