Key Responsibilities

Implementation and reporting of planned activities

The Sponsorship Programme Facilitator will participate in planning, budgeting, preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities, and monitoring and reporting of progress.

Main Duties

  • Participate in planning and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare work plans and support implementation of planned activities.
  • Monitor and report progress on monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Facilitate and monitor implementation of planned activities and community-level engagements.
  • Mobilize and facilitate stakeholder engagement during planning and development meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Identify local-level partners and support partnerships in implementing planned activities.
  • Facilitate stakeholders and partners in supervision and monitoring of programmatic activities.
  • Support collection and documentation of impact and success stories.
  • Facilitate spiritual nurture of children.
  • Foster partnerships with local institutions in registered children monitoring.
  • Facilitate linkages between stakeholders and communities on economic opportunities for children’s wellbeing.
  • Facilitate and monitor refresher training for teachers on Learning Roots and Measuring Evidence of Quality Achieved (MEQA) in schools.
  • Input MEQA-related data.
  • Mobilize communities and partners for school feeding programmes.
  • Facilitate development of local value chains for targeted crops such as cashew nuts.

Expected Results

  • All planned activities are executed within the financial year, according to budget, with expected outputs realized.
  • Implementation is monitored and data is available for monthly, quarterly, and annual report compilation.

Community engagement and advocacy

The role will support community empowerment, inclusion, and active participation of children, families, and communities in programme development and implementation.

Main Duties

  • Sensitize communities on empowerment through organizing producer groups and formation and monitoring of S4T groups.
  • Support communities, including registered children households, to participate in and benefit from programme development.
  • Ensure intentional inclusion of registered children families in producer groups, S4T groups, and other economic activities.
  • Sensitize communities on sponsorship, including registered children’s parents or guardians, community leaders, and community members.
  • Facilitate community participation in sponsorship management project activities.
  • Mobilize and facilitate active participation of children and communities in planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of community development initiatives.
  • Build the capacity of children, families, and communities to collectively engage local leaders on identified issues.
  • Follow up on commitments made by leaders to improve children’s wellbeing.
  • Mobilize communities to participate in annual child care and protection days, including the Day of the African Child.
  • Facilitate implementation of selected models, including EWV, CP, and Channel of Hope, with fidelity.
  • Mobilize in-school and out-of-school youth for vocational skills opportunities.
  • Follow up and support implementation of case management issues for children and families, including education, health, and nutrition.
  • Ensure availability of teaching and learning supplies.
  • Advocate for teaching ethics.

Expected Results

  • Mobilized S4T groups and producer groups are operating sustainably.
  • Local value chain development for selected produce is embraced and prioritized.
  • Children are enrolled in early childhood education and ECD programmes.
  • Teachers are equipped with relevant teaching skills.
  • Schools are equipped with reliable learning and teaching materials.
  • Different community groups are integrated into the programme, with intentional focus on the most vulnerable groups, especially registered children.

Management of sponsorship performance

The role will support sponsorship standards, sponsor correspondence, sponsor visits, and related sponsorship activities.

Main Duties

  • Support monitoring of registered children in line with partnership standards.
  • Support registered children to correspond with sponsors in a timely manner.
  • Support children in responding to sponsor correspondence, including sponsor letters and introductory letters.
  • Support management of Support Office queries, gift notifications, mails, and file copies of correspondence in children’s files.
  • Mobilize and support registered children families to prepare for and manage sponsor visits.
  • Support implementation of Chosen, Bounce Back, and community gift notification activities.

Expected Results

  • Area Programme achieves a green Sponsorship Operations Indicator report, showing compliance with sponsorship business standards.
  • Correspondence is completed professionally and meets sponsor expectations.

Monitoring of registered children

The Facilitator will support integrated monitoring of registered children and ensure monitoring findings are addressed with relevant stakeholders.

Main Duties

  • Support development of an integrated monitoring plan in the assigned area with ADP stakeholders.
  • Compile monitoring reports for management action.
  • Hold monthly or quarterly meetings with child monitors, guardians or parents, and child protection committees to address monitoring findings.
  • Identify and train volunteers, monitors, and partners on sponsorship philosophy and partnership standards.

Expected Results

  • Area Programme achieves a green Sponsorship Operations Indicator report, showing compliance with sponsorship business standards.
  • Correspondence is completed professionally and meets sponsor expectations.

Child protection and wellbeing

The role includes monitoring child wellbeing, identifying child protection issues, and supporting communities to prevent and respond to abuse.

Main Duties

  • Monitor child wellbeing and child abuse cases, and report any occurrence in line with child protection policies and guidelines.
  • Work with local leaders to protect children from violations and abuse.
  • Sensitize children, including registered children, on child protection.
  • Sensitize children, guardians or parents, and stakeholders on children’s rights and responsibilities to help identify child violations.
  • Facilitate spiritual nurture of children.

Expected Results

  • Communities where the Area Programme operates have knowledge of child protection and can testify to reduced child abuse.
  • Communities and local leaders are supportive in fighting child abuse.

Networking

The role will involve strengthening partnerships and networking with community-level stakeholders.

Main Duties

  • Facilitate networking relationships and participation with stakeholders including government, church leaders, faith-based organization leaders, NGOs, CBOs, IGA groups, and other key partners.
  • Facilitate World Vision Tanzania integration for profitable agriculture, livestock production, and enterprise development, including high-value agriculture crops.
  • Foster partnerships with local institutions in registered children monitoring.
  • Maintain and update data and information on education beneficiaries.
  • Share education beneficiary information with partners for various opportunities.

Expected Results

  • Local partnerships are embraced at community level.

Knowledge and Qualifications for the Role

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, such as Sociology or Community Development; Bachelor of Education; or Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Production from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in programming.

Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification

Candidates must have the relevant academic qualifications listed above. Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience in community mobilization across multiple disciplines and sectors.
