Context & Environment

• HSE is the responsibility of everyone, your main objective must be to build a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors working at your site.
• Working long hours and sometimes during weekends, public holidays.
• Close coordination with;

1. Internally: OM, internal auditor, Commercial Department, Network Manager, HR Manager and Depot Managers, Transport Manager etc.
2. Externally: Contractors, Government institutions such OSHA & NEMC.

Activities

1. Continuous coordination and follow-up of the training programs (local and regulatory trainings).
2. Conduct HSE related inspections at the Head Office.
3. Coordinate and conduct monthly HSE & REX committee and follow-up actions from committees.
4. Conduct quarterly drills at HQ to ensure readiness for emergency response.
5. Continuous follow-up and update of cases in Ramses.
6. Conduct internal training, toolbox talks and spearhead HSE campaigns to promote a safety culture.
7. Visit worksites and service stations to conduct HSE inspections.
8. Follow up and maintain firefighting equipment at HQ.
9. Promote near-miss reporting, golden rules and use of stop cards.
10. Participate in accident investigation and reporting.
11. Follow and facilitate implementation of affiliate HSE objectives.
12. Participate and conduct HSE evaluations to bidders of tenders for works with high HSE risks.
13. Making sure of the availability of proper PPE and monitoring the inventory and use of the PPE.
14. Create and review HSE programs, policies, plans and procedures.
15. Managing the health of employees, this includes monitoring the quality of food, drinking water and ensuring cleanness of sanitary facilities.
16. Track and review HSE management system documents (manuals, policies, procedures). Ensure such documents are updated, posted on referential sites.
17. Keep track of the HSE procedures criticality file.
18. Optimization of waste trade and recycling – proper data tracking & Proper waste segregation.
19. Coordinate the GR challenge and coordinate among the HSE team to improve staff participation.
20. Risk assessment studies for HQ to be reviewed annually (IH, Risk register, IEP, CTA, etc.).
21. To implement SRM+, SOCRAT, UN sustainable development goals and sustainable change to ensure harmonization of our operations and communities. 
22. Complete any other tasks assigned by the HSE Manager.

Candidate Profile

• Must possess at least two years of work experience in HSE, most preferably oil and gas, mining, power plants.
• Must possess a degree from a recognized higher learning institution.
• Must possess HSE qualifications, and an engineering background will be an added advantage.
• Must have a good command of English language (speaking and writing) and should be an effective communicator.
• Computer skills, conversant with Microsoft word, power point and excel.
• Must be independent, able to deliver under minimum supervision.
• Must be ready to work under high pressure and demonstrate a high level of commitment to work.
