Job Description
The key purpose of this role is the safe operation of one or more discrete processes in Brewing & (e.g. Wort Cooling, Yeast Management, Filtration Quality at source), the execution of maintenance tasks, quality control checks and analyses, and the coaching of fellow team members to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.
Key outputs and responsibilities:
Plant and Process:
- Optimise Plant & Process Performance where appropriate
- Operate the Brew house Plant and Process
- Operate Fermentation Plant and Process
- Operate Filtration Plant and Process
- Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices
- Unsafe work practices must be identified and corrected.
- Support the creation (drafting and documenting) of standard work procedures (including quick fix routines and problems)
Quality control and analysis:
- Carry out the required quality +checks and analyses, and recording the results on the appropriate information system
- Where quality problems have arisen, apply the appropriate problem-solving techniques (e.g. Quick fix routines) to resolve
- Escalate any identified or unresolved problems to Team Leader.
Communication:
- Actively participate in meetings and goal reviews.
- Utilise the checklist to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities.
- Fully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessions.
- Making use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
- Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality, Maintenance are communicated.
- Complete autonomous maintenance tasks problem-solving activities
Problem solving:
- Respond rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that could result in out of control process situations
- Apply problem solving techniques (e.g. 5Y, quick fix routines etc.) to identify and correct problems
Work In Teams:
- Develop others in own skills as well as the learning of the skills of other specialist Brewery Technicians
- Be a logical, analytical problem solver who can operate in an unstructured environment

Profile:
- Dip/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Food Science
- Basic PC Literacy (Microsoft)
- Problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work shifts

The Key Purpose of this role is to Co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitored team goals.
- Maintain machines & repairs breakdowns.
- Support and coaching team members, SKAP Assessments to team members.
- Enforce and maintain safe work areas.
- Delegate and monitor work activities.
- Manage continuous improvement projects.
- Solve situational problems.
- Conduct audits.
- Manage personal development and performance.
- Prepares the ZBB/VIC Maintenance budget.
- Identifies CAPEX UPP opportunities that need to be addressed.
- Develops artisans and machine specialist. Ensure that development plan is in place.
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment:
- Implement and comply with safety, health and environmental legislation procedures.
- Maintain safety and 5S Standards.
- Identification and closure of unsafe practices through SIO’s.
- Safety inspections conducted.
- Safe maintenance practices audited.
- Adherence to PPE policies.

Plant reliability:
- Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems.
- Plan and prepare the job.
- Carry out repairs / maintenance.
- Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems.
- Operate plant and process equipment.
- Effective process controls are in place.
- Packaging Efficiencies.
People:
- 1 on 1’s Completed.
- SKAP Managed.
- Recruitment management.
- Engagement survey result review.
Problem Solving:
- S Plan participation.
- Conduct Loss and Waste analysis for top 3 Machine.
- Ensure that artisan workstations are aligned to address the identified problem areas.
Plant Performance:
- Product Quality.
- Maintenance KPI’s and PI’s.
- Autonomous Operations implement and sustain as per plan.
- GOP Compliance.
- VPO implementation.
ZBB /VIC Maintenance Budget:
- Prepares the allocated area ZBB /VIC Maintenance budget.
- Complies to approved budget.
- Highlights risk areas ahead of time.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably electrical.
- 3-years Experience at Supervisory level.
- Knowledge of Brewing, E&F, and Packaging plant will be an advantage.
- Computer literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications).
- 3 – 5 years production engineering in a FMCG environment.
