Ecobank is seeking a qualified professional to support and manage electronic banking services and payment solutions. The role focuses on implementing cash management solutions, driving digital payments utilization, supporting electronic banking operations, and ensuring efficient delivery of payment products to customers.
Job Objectives
The Payments & Channels Officer will be responsible for implementing cash management solutions and supporting electronic banking operations while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Lead implementation and ensure implementation standards after a cash management services proposal involving multiple products, services, locations, or geographies has been accepted by a customer.
Support day-to-day operations of electronic banking services delivered to the bank’s customers.
Drive digital payment product utilization, penetration, and manage dormancy of all channels.
Own the overall problem resolution processes to ensure seamless delivery to customers within the country.
Position Ecobank as the preferred provider and leading cash management solution provider in the country.
Take full ownership of pipeline management and the deal conversion process while working with the RO and RM.
Ensure an adequate and proactive calling plan of key relationships is maintained in collaboration with RO and RM.
Prepare the country weekly and monthly payment performance reports and ensure submission to the Head of Cash Management and business departments.
Own the performance levels of payment products.
Provide leadership for effective delivery and growth of the cash management/payments business in the country.
Act as a door opener for customer acquisition by increasing ETZ customer value proposition and enhancing client experience.
Provide sales support to Local Account Managers to secure business from potential customers by refining customer solutions.
Ensure smooth launch of new products and enhancement of existing services for designated electronic channels and products through active involvement in product development cycles where necessary.
Carry out payment services initiatives to achieve goals and assist in migration of best practices.
Be fully accountable for successful implementation by interfacing with customer implementation teams until customer satisfaction is achieved and stable utilization is recorded for the first two months.
Participate and support various channel rollout initiatives undertaken by the Group Channels Management.
Implementation and Operational Responsibilities
This role requires strong project management and coordination skills to ensure the effective implementation of electronic banking and payment solutions.
Responsibilities include:

Coordinate project implementation activities including milestones tracking and progress updates among stakeholders, both internal and external to the bank.

Collaborate with Operations, Product Management, Legal, Finance, third-party banks, and vendors.

Perform the role of Implementation Officer where multiple implementation teams from different locations may be involved.

Ensure implementation quality adheres to the bank’s standards and processes.

Provide quality customer service to electronic banking customers through constant communication and effective problem logging.

Ensure prompt resolution of technical queries related to electronic banking.

Ensure all processes executed by the unit comply with set standards.

Maintain cost consciousness and minimize the department’s operating budget and expenditure.

Monitor turnaround time of implementations to accelerate revenue realization for the bank.

Train and continuously update Sales and Product Managers on electronic banking technology and customer benefits through training sessions, seminars, and sales aids.

Support the formulation of customized solutions in collaboration with:

Cluster Heads of Payment/Cash Management

Country Channels and Solution Delivery teams

Group IT and Operations

External software vendors

Local banks

Outsourcing agents

Support utilization initiatives while working closely with payment teams across countries.

Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) or Product Trial Runs to ensure new releases of electronic channels and products meet usability requirements before customer launch.

Packaged and non-packaged global products

Sweeping services
-
Premium Collections
-
Host-to-Host solutions
-
Non-standard offerings requiring coordination.

Education Requirements
Applicants should meet the following academic qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.
-
MBA, MSc, MA, ML, and/or Professional Qualifications are considered an added advantage.
Work Experience
Candidates should have:

Hands-on experience in the sales, design, and implementation of Electronic Banking Solutions.
