Description
· Support delivery of the small cassava seed packs to farmers
· Provide agronomic knowledge to the recipient of small cassava seed packs
· Monitoring field performance to provide advice on field management
· Collect data, analysis and report writing
· Perform any other activities as assigned by the coordinator.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma in Agriculture.
· 5 Years’ field experience
· Working with little or no supervision
· Active engagement skills with rural Communities
· Knowledgeable on cassava production and seed system
· Gender integration skills in rural community activities
· Communication and Interpersonal Skills
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Tools

Field Facilitators – 3 positions Siha, Kilimanjaro at IITA
Description
· Assist in project coordination between farmers, extension and BioSSA researchers with the assigned cluster.
· Assist with layout, planting and management of the trails
· Collect plant and soil data from established trials.
· Keep proper records of demonstration plots and the recorded data.
· Submit weekly report on the demonstration trials to BioSSA scientists.
· Arrange field visits to the demonstration trials as directed by BioSSA project Coordinator
· Train farmers in proper handling and application of effective bio-input products.
· Any other duties that may be assigned by project management.
Requirements
The candidate should have a Diploma in Agriculture with specialization on crops research and management.
· Good understanding of the maize and beans cropping system in Tanzania.
· Ability to work with and maintain a good relationship with famers.
· A good Knowledge of farming systems in Siha District
· Be a good team player and highly self-motivated.Field Technician at IITA
Description
· Assist in project coordination with the implementation of the project in Siha district, Kilimanjaro region Tanzania.
· Supervise field facilitators recruited in the project.
· Identify sites for establishment of on-farm trials.
· Ensure proper field layout, planting and weeding of demonstration trials
· Is responsible for day-to-day management of on-farm trials.
· Collect, process and compile data from the experiments.
· Train extension workers and farmers on proper handling and application of effective bio-input products.
· Organize learning and sharing of experiences forums between the various actors, projects and ongoing similar initiatives/ programs in the country.
· Prepare project implementation report as required.
· Any other duties that may be assigned by project management.
Requirements
The candidate should hold a BSc in Agriculture/Horticulture/Agronomy from a recognized university with relevant experience in agricultural research and management.

· Relevant work experience in agricultural research and management of at least 5 years, in a multicultural organization.
· Good understanding of the agriculture system in Tanzania.
· A good understanding of maize and bean crops management.
· Ability to work with and maintain a good relationship with stakeholders.
